Fun! Everything I like is in one shot: low light, bokeh, sister, and myself!
Small World
July 13, 2009What are the chances to meet someone you know in a place you don’t expect him or her to be?
Some time ago my friends and I decided to spend a few days in Moscow. One of us had to work on Friday and could not take the day off, because she had to teach students. The only excuse for her to not show up at work was to call in sick. So she did.
We bought three tickets for Thursday night train in order to be in the city on Friday morning (it is a 12-hour trip from my hometown, Kazan).
We had a great time exploring the city, shopping, and having fun. Around 6 pm, the rush hour, happy and tired we headed to the subway to take a train to our hotel. After being pushed and crumpled we finally got on the train, which was so full that you could have just relaxed without any chance to fall. A moment later Marina, who was supposed to be sick, looked up and could not believe her eyes. She was standing face to face to her boss… Now, what are the chances?
In a different city with the population of over 10 million people, in a subway during the rush hour to be standing next to someone you expect to see the least. Magic.
