Since 1965 (!) the W 69th street association throws a Halloween party for New Yorkers. Just like last year I walked around with my camera and took some pictures.
halloween_w69th I liked the protesters. “Go back to the East Side”. Brilliant :) halloween_strikehalloween_family

Really, Nature? I’ve heard about New England fall foliage, but couldn’t imagine it could be so beautiful. It’s almost criminal! new_york_fall_foliage

Every end of summer Central Park throws a party for all movie lovers. On a green lawn under the open sky they install a huge screen. Everyone is welcome to join, it’s free! All movies are usually about New York. central_park_film_festival-2central_park_film_festival-5 Do not freak out by the number of people sitting so close to each other, it’s an optical illusion. Telephoto lenses distort perspective, compressing the scene. central_park_film_festival-3

This creepy rock really does look like a head. This is how the Chimney Rock State Park website explains its formation:

A long time ago a huge sheet of rock slid down the mountainside and broke into many pieces, one of which came to rest on this ledge. The facial features of the boulder are due to differential weathering of Gneiss. More resistant parts of the rock form the eyebrow, nose, chin and ear, while softer layers have eroded out, shaping the eye and the mouth.
